Sewa Sankalp Inaugurates Free Homeopathic Dispensary

On 16 November 2025, Sewa Sankalp marked another milestone with the inauguration of Uttarakhand’s third free Homeopathic Dispensary. This new center has been established at Doon Convent School, Haldwani, with the noble aim of making healthcare more accessible to the community, especially to those who need it most.

Free homeopathic dispensary inauguration, Uttarakhand Haldwani Sewa Sankalp health initiatives

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the esteemed Prof. Bhuvan Lal Sah (Retd. Director, HRDC, Kumaon University, Nainital). His presence added immense warmth and value to the occasion, and with his blessings, the dispensary was formally inaugurated. His words of encouragement reaffirmed the importance of community-driven health initiatives and inspired everyone present to continue working for social upliftment.

This dispensary holds even deeper emotional significance as it is dedicated to the cherished memory of Shri Raj Bahadur Srivastava Ji, who has been a guiding force and inspirational pillar for the institution. His values of service, kindness, and humanity continue to illuminate the path of Sewa Sankalp. Establishing this dispensary in his honor is a heartfelt tribute to the principles he lived by and the compassion he instilled in others.

To ensure that the community receives the best possible care, Dr. Umesh Chandra has been appointed as the Chief Physician of the dispensary. His dedication to service and commitment to healing aligns perfectly with the vision and mission of Sewa Sankalp. With his expertise, we aim to provide reliable, accessible, and compassionate homeopathic healthcare to all who walk through our doors.

A Step Toward a Healthier and Happier Society

Sewa Sankalp’s mission has always been rooted in service—service without expectation, service that heals, and service that uplifts. The establishment of this third free homeopathic dispensary is not just an achievement for the organization but a collective accomplishment for everyone who has supported this noble journey over the years.

Healthcare is a fundamental necessity, yet many communities struggle to access even basic medical services. By providing free homeopathic treatment, Sewa Sankalp aims to bridge this gap and bring quality healthcare closer to people who otherwise may not have the means. This latest dispensary will cater to students, families, and residents of Haldwani and nearby areas, ensuring that compassionate medical care reaches those who truly need it.

Together, We Make Change Possible

We heartily thank every supporter, volunteer, donor, and member who has stood with Sewa Sankalp through every initiative. Your trust and continuous cooperation make these accomplishments possible. Each contribution—whether through time, resources, or encouragement—brings society one step closer to being a healthier, kinder, and more connected community.

As we celebrate this moment of pride, we humbly hope that your support continues to guide and strengthen us in the future as well. Many more lives can be touched, many more families can be supported, and many more communities can be uplifted—but only with your continued participation.

Let us walk together on this path of service, dedication, and compassion.
Together, we can create a society where healthcare is accessible for all, and where kindness forms the foundation of every action.

Once again, congratulations and heartfelt gratitude to all the supporters of Sewa Sankalp. May our collective efforts continue to bring positive change and hope to countless lives.

Free Health Checkup Camp Organized in Ramnagar, Nainital

Sewa Sankalp on 15 November 2025 organized a Free Health Checkup Camp for students and rural residents in Ramnagar, Nainital. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to improving community health, especially among individuals who often lack access to timely and affordable medical care. The camp brought together healthcare professionals, volunteers, teachers, and local families for a day dedicated to awareness, prevention, and compassionate service.

Sewa Sankalp conducted a free health checkup camp for students and rural families in Ramnagar, Nainital, on 15 November 2025

The goal of this health camp was not merely to provide diagnosis and treatment but to create a strong foundation for preventive healthcare. Many rural households in Uttarakhand face challenges such as limited access to medical facilities, lack of awareness about early symptoms, and financial constraints that delay or prevent timely health checkups. By organizing this camp, Sewa Sankalp aimed to ensure that no student, child, or villager is deprived of essential health services.

Serving Students and Rural Communities Alike

A significant portion of the camp’s focus was on students from nearby schools. Growing children are often vulnerable to nutritional deficiencies, vision issues, dental problems, and lifestyle-related concerns. Early detection is key to preventing future complications, and the camp provided students with an opportunity to undergo a complete health assessment without any financial burden.

Rural families also participated in large numbers. From senior citizens to young mothers, the camp welcomed individuals of all age groups. Many villagers expressed gratitude, mentioning that such health initiatives reduce their dependency on distant hospitals and provide much-needed reassurance regarding their wellbeing.

Empathy, Awareness & Community Support

What made the camp truly impactful was the warm participation of the local community. Teachers, parents, and village elders gathered to ensure students and families benefited from every service offered. Many parents appreciated that their children were receiving professional health evaluation—something they often hesitate to pursue due to time, cost, or distance barriers.

Several mothers participated in consultations focusing on nutrition, anemia, and maternal health, acknowledging how such guidance empowers them to take better care of their families.

The Spirit of Sewa Sankalp

The health camp was not just a medical initiative—it was a reflection of Sewa Sankalp’s belief that health is a right, not a privilege. Every life is valuable, and every individual deserves access to quality healthcare. Our volunteers and medical team worked tirelessly throughout the day, ensuring that every participant received attention, guidance, and proper checkup support without any discrimination or delay.

A Step Toward a Healthier Uttarakhand

Camps like these help strengthen community health infrastructure and encourage individuals to prioritize their wellbeing. In regions where medical access is limited, such initiatives become lifelines for families.

Sewa Sankalp is committed to expanding such programs, reaching more villages, schools, and underserved populations across Uttarakhand. But our work is only possible with the continued support of our members, volunteers, and well-wishers.

With Your Support, We Can Do More

Your encouragement is the reason we are able to serve more people every year.
As we move forward, we humbly hope that your support, kindness, and participation continue to guide our mission. Together, we can build healthier communities and stronger futures.

Let us continue this journey with compassion and commitment—because when we care for our communities, we build a better tomorrow for all.

Diwali 2025: Spreading Light and Joy with Slum Children

At Sewa Sankalp, we believe the brilliance of Diwali must shine brightest where it is needed most. That conviction led us to our annual, most treasured event: “SHARING HAPPINESS by Celebrating Diwali-2025 with Slum kids.” This post serves as an open invitation to witness the profound impact of collective kindness. On October 17th, 2025, we didn’t just celebrate a festival; we reignited hope, one radiant smile at a time.

Diwali 2025: Spreading Light and Joy with Slum Children

The air is thick with anticipation. It’s the eve of the festival of lights, and the familiar scents of mithai, marigolds, and the comforting oil from clay lamps are everywhere. Diwali is more than just a date on the calendar; it’s an annual testament to the power of goodness and the infectious warmth of celebration. Yet, in the quiet, forgotten corners of our urban landscape, where the lights rarely reach, the true spirit of the festival often struggles to survive.

The Deeper Purpose: Closing the Gap of Joy

For an underprivileged child, festivals often highlight a painful paradox—the city’s joy contrasts sharply with their own reality of lack. A small child whose family cannot afford even a single new shirt or a modest box of sweets is, by extension, excluded from the national narrative of prosperity. This exclusion is a form of darkness, and it’s what Sewa Sankalp exists to combat.

Our charity Diwali initiative is carefully designed to foster dignity. It is an act of community service that acknowledges the inherent worth of every child. We are focused on sharing happiness, understanding that these positive memories become crucial emotional resilience factors later in life. Our long-term goal is social impact, and it begins with simple, sincere gestures of love and inclusion.

October 17th: The Day Joy Became Real

The morning of October 17th, 2025, was electric. Our team of dedicated volunteers—the true engine of Sewa Sankalp—arrived to transform a dusty patch of ground into a vibrant, safe festival venue. The atmosphere was immediately infectious, a powerful antidote to the daily struggles faced by the slum children.

Dignity, First and Foremost: The New Clothes

Our first major activity addressed a basic yet deeply psychological need: dignity. We meticulously handed out hundreds of sets of brand new clothes. This isn’t just about providing garments; it’s about offering the children the chance to feel special, to stand tall, and to participate in the celebration with pride, equal to their peers. The sight of their quick, joyful changes was enough to bring a lump to the throat of every volunteer present.

The Sweet Taste of Diwali

The simple pleasures are often the most profound. We distributed festive packages containing a curated mix of nutritious snacks and traditional sweets. The explosion of pure delight as children tucked into laddoos and other treats reinforced the very name of our event: SHARING HAPPINESS. For many, these are luxuries that their parents cannot afford, making the moment incredibly precious.

Safe Sparks: Lighting the Path to Fun

No Diwali is complete without its sparkle. We conducted a carefully managed firecracker session, utilizing only safe, eco-friendly items like sparklers and gentle ground emitters. Under the constant, watchful eyes of our trained volunteers, the children experienced the joyous crackle and light without any fear. This controlled segment perfectly balanced the excitement of the festival with our commitment to children’s welfare and safety.

Investing in the Future: Gifts for Growth

Our gifts extended beyond fleeting enjoyment. Each child received a utility kit that included essential tools for learning: notebooks, pens, coloring materials, and educational games. Sewa Sankalp recognizes that festive joy must connect to a viable future. These small tokens of appreciation are a quiet but firm reminder of our dedication to empowering children through education and sustained support.

The Enduring Radiance: A Promise Kept

The energy from October 17th, 2025, continues to resonate. The sheer volume of genuine smiles and the palpable feeling of inclusion created that day serve as the fuel for our year-round efforts. This event was a success not just in terms of numbers, but in the quality of the interactions and the depth of the memories created.

We use the momentum from our Diwali 2025 event to re-engage families and bring more children into our ongoing programs. The trust we build through events like this is what allows us to effectively run our learning centers, provide consistent nutritional support, and organize vital health check-ups. Your contribution, whether through time or funds, transforms these ephemeral moments of joy into sustainable long-term change.

Be the Light: Join Sewa Sankalp’s Sankalp

The true meaning of Diwali lies in extending the light beyond your own doorstep. The impact of the volunteer opportunities and donations we receive is immediate and visible, directly funding the education and security of the slum children we serve.

We urge you to look beyond the celebratory images and see the potential you can unlock. Your decision to donate for children provides textbooks, warm blankets, and nutritious meals that last far longer than the festive season. Help Sewa Sankalp ensure that the light of hope shines brightly in their lives every single day.

POCSO ACT 2012: Sewa Sankalp’s Critical Child Safety Campaign

POCSO ACT 2012: Sewa Sankalp's Critical Child Safety Campaign

POCSO ACT 2012: Sewa Sankalp’s Critical Child Safety Campaign

The most vulnerable members of our society—our children—deserve an ironclad promise of safety. At Sewa Sankalp, we know that love and care alone are not enough; protection must be backed by knowledge. That conviction fueled our recent, critically important Awareness Campaign dedicated to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

POCSO ACT 2012: Sewa Sankalp's Critical Child Safety Campaign

On October 11th, 2025, we brought this crucial legislation directly to the community. This was more than an event; it was a mobilization effort to shatter the silence, combat ignorance, and equip every child, parent, and caregiver with the tools they need to defend themselves and those they love.

The Imperative of Legal Empowerment

The POCSO Act, 2012, stands as one of India’s most stringent laws for child protection, yet it remains vastly underutilized due to lack of public awareness. Our campaign focused on transforming this powerful piece of legislation from a distant legal term into a practical, accessible defense mechanism for the community. The goal of Sewa Sankalp is to ensure that fear is replaced by confidence in the law.

The Three Pillars of Our Campaign

Our strategy targeted three distinct groups, providing specialized education tailored to their unique roles in child safety:

  1. Children (The Core Audience): The sessions were kept simple, engaging, and sensitive. We used visual aids and age-appropriate discussions to introduce the concepts of “Good Touch, Bad Touch” and the absolute right of a child to say NO. We focused on empowering children to understand their personal boundaries and identify trusted adults (like helpline 1098) they can immediately confide in.

  2. Parents and Guardians: We conducted in-depth sessions explaining the technical definitions of offences under the POCSO Act. The critical focus here was on mandatory reporting—highlighting the legal and moral obligation of every adult to report suspected abuse, thereby breaking the cycle of secrecy and shame that often protects perpetrators.

  3. Community Leaders and Educators: We trained local leaders and teachers on recognizing the behavioral and physical red flags of abuse. We also provided clear, step-by-step instructions on the correct legal protocol for filing a report, liaising with the Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), and accessing counseling services.

October 11th in Action: Creating Safe Spaces

The day was structured around interactivity, ensuring the serious subject matter was handled with the necessary sensitivity and clarity.

  • Interactive Workshops: Using non-threatening role-play and simplified educational materials, children practiced scenarios where they had to assert their boundaries, making the lessons stick without causing distress.

  • Resource Distribution: Every participant received a comprehensive booklet that detailed key provisions of the POCSO Act and listed crucial emergency contact numbers, including the national child helpline (1098). This material serves as a permanent reference point.

  • Q&A and Pledge: The sessions culminated in open Q&A forums, where community members could ask difficult, specific questions anonymously. The day concluded with a collective community pledge to maintain zero-tolerance for any form of child abuse, solidifying the commitment to child protection.

A Commitment That Endures: Beyond the Campaign

The successful October 11th, 2025, campaign represents the proactive, rights-based approach of Sewa Sankalp. We know that the fight is far from over. The knowledge disseminated is now a permanent layer of protection in these communities, forming the foundation for our continuous children’s welfare work.

The positive energy and commitment from the participants proved one vital truth: the community desperately wants to protect its children. They just need the right tools and information. Your ongoing support helps us translate this single-day initiative into sustainable safety programs, funding follow-up workshops and providing the counseling resources essential for healing.

Join the Movement: Secure a Child’s Future

The most vulnerable children need courageous allies. By supporting Sewa Sankalp, you are directly funding the education and resources that make the POCSO Act a reality on the ground. You are empowering a child to say ‘no,’ and you are equipping a parent to seek justice.

Your donation is an investment in a future free from fear. Help us ensure that every child is aware of their rights and every guardian knows their duty.

Awareness Sessions to Empower Young Minds

Awareness Sessions to Empower Young Minds

Awareness Sessions to Empower Young Minds

At Sewa Sankalp, our belief has always been simple yet powerful—when we empower young minds with knowledge, awareness, and values, we empower the future of our nation. Carrying this vision forward, we recently organized awareness sessions for adolescent students at two leading educational institutions in Uttarakhand: Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Sitarganj, and Woodlands Sr. Sec. School, Haldwani.

Awareness Sessions to Empower Young Minds

With this vision, our team recently organized awareness sessions for adolescent students at Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Sitarganj, and Woodlands Sr. Sec. School, Haldwani.

The sessions, led by Ms. Anita Sood, focused on nurturing social responsibility, awareness, and empathy among students. Young minds, when guided with the right values, have the power to bring transformative change in society.

Students participated actively, showing curiosity, enthusiasm, and a genuine willingness to learn. These sessions were not just about creating awareness—they were about sowing the seeds of responsibility and compassion in the leaders of tomorrow.

At Sewa Sankalp, we firmly believe that if our students are socially aware, empathetic, and responsible, we can collectively build a society where everyone thrives.

✨ Together, we can nurture this change. But we need your support.

Hygiene Hub: Empowering 25,000 Girls in Gorakhpur with Essential Hygiene Awareness

Addressing a Critical Need: The Hygiene Hub Initiative

The “Hygiene Hub” program was designed to address the pressing need for comprehensive hygiene education among young girls in the Gorakhpur region. Many girls lack access to accurate information about menstrual hygiene and safe disposal practices, leading to health risks and environmental concerns. Sewa Sankalp, with the support of SBI, aimed to bridge this gap and empower girls to take control of their health.

Empowering Girls with Knowledge: Health and Sustainability

The campaign focused on two key aspects:

  • Promoting Good Health: The program provided girls with essential information about menstrual hygiene, personal cleanliness, and the importance of maintaining good health practices. Experts conducted interactive sessions and workshops, addressing common misconceptions and providing practical advice.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Recognizing the environmental impact of improper sanitary pad disposal, the “Hygiene Hub” campaign emphasized the importance of eco-friendly disposal methods. The program highlighted the harm caused by traditional disposal practices and promoted the use of sanitary pad disposal machines.

Practical Solutions: Sanitary Pad Disposal Machines

As a crucial component of the program, Sewa Sankalp facilitated the free installation of sanitary pad disposal machines in various locations across the eight districts. This practical solution provides girls with a safe and hygienic way to dispose of sanitary waste, minimizing environmental pollution and promoting responsible waste management.

A Collaborative Effort: Sewa Sankalp and SBI

The success of the “Hygiene Hub” campaign is a testament to the power of collaboration. Sewa Sankalp’s dedication to community development, combined with SBI’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, has resulted in a significant positive impact on the lives of thousands of girls.

Making a Lasting Impact: The Importance of Hygiene Awareness

The “Hygiene Hub” program is more than just an awareness campaign; it’s an investment in the health and well-being of young girls. By providing them with the knowledge and resources they need, Sewa Sankalp and SBI are empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment.

Children from Slums Enjoy Theatre: A Dream Come True

For many children living in the slums of Lucknow, simple experiences that most take for granted are but a distant dream. On February 9th, 2025, that dream became a reality for a group of children from the free education centers run by Sewa Sankalp. These children, some as young as five years old, experienced the magic of theatre for the very first time, watching the movie “Sky Force” at the Novelty Theatre in Lalbagh.

Sewa Sankalp, an NGO dedicated to the holistic development of children in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab, has been working tirelessly for 33 years without any government funding. Imagine the excitement of a five-year-old seeing their favorite actor, Akshay Kumar, on a screen larger than they could ever have imagined. Khushi, from the Buddheshwar free education center, couldn’t contain her joy, clapping and cheering throughout the movie. For these children, who had never before stepped inside a movie theatre, the experience was nothing short of magical.
